Hmm…not bad. Points for doing something a little different. Although it doesn’t seem to have the teeth of the original.

If you’re going to remake a cult classic like RoboCop (or Red Dawn, etc.), it had better be done right. Casting Commissioner Gordon, Mace Windu, and Beetlejuice is a step in the WRONG direction.

Peter Weller was also pretty skinny when he played Robocop, it was the suit that made him look bulkier.

    My favorite was:
“Come quietly or there will be *slight pause, then says the last word slightly faster than the rest of the sentence* trouble.”
Holy shit dude, why the hell would you say your line that way?

np brutal shoot em up scene? replaced by a simple car explosion?
oh and lets throw “dead or alive ur coming with me” as a reference to the original. =’(

next thing we know, this robocop won’t even kill anyone. maybe he’s against it just like batman, seeing as this movie is trying to be a nolan batman movie by the looks of it.

yup, some ppl here will cry for stop motion, oh man you sure can’t beat that. way to ruin the action sequences with cutting edge cgi! stop motion is where it’s all at. the original is 100% perfect and we musn’t mar it! hurrdurr

Welcome back to the far off year of 1998, where we solve our problems by questioning others’ sexuality… for some reason.

  23. Shawn Maloney on Fri, 6th Sep 2013 6:14 pm

Why does Micheal Keaton look like a sleeping Kevin Costner? I love how RoboCop know’s he’s shitty now “what the hell did you do to me?”

    Sick

  26. David Springate on Fri, 6th Sep 2013 7:00 pm

I think a major problem with this movie (at least what the trailer presents) is that the original Robocop is a machine primarily with human elements that start to bust through. This is a man who has cybernetic implants that augment his responses etc. Not the same thing at all – it means we’ll never have those heart-wrenching Robocop and Mrs. Murphy exchanges while she tries to get through to the man under the machine. A disappointment but I’m not surprised.

  27. Michael Andrew on Fri, 6th Sep 2013 7:13 pm

looks absolutely turd. burn Hollywood burne

  28. Pedro Correia on Fri, 6th Sep 2013 7:21 pm

  32. classicpj11 on Fri, 6th Sep 2013 8:23 pm

this actually looks really good. even better than the first one. this one has the feel like his accident wasn’t random like in th original movie

  33. Dennis Potter on Fri, 6th Sep 2013 9:19 pm

it’s ‘you’re crazy’. The punctuation is to show you are leaving out a letter. Hence ‘you are’ gets shortened to ‘you’re’. I’m not having a go, I’m enabling you ;)

  34. MrDanwager on Fri, 6th Sep 2013 9:50 pm

What was you expecting a live action film with no cgi?? You lot must be ancient to complain about something like that, the original was decent and this looks just as good of course it gonna be different if they was gonna make the exact same film then what’s the point in a reboot, stop being so quick to complain your all gonna go see it anyway

  35. Dennis Potter on Fri, 6th Sep 2013 10:27 pm

Verhoven’s original was a sharp satire, as was Starship Troopers (too sharp, probably why he doesn’t make Hollywood films any more) Chances are, this version has none of the social bite the original had. Hopefully, it’ll die a quick death like the re-make of Total Recall did. I hope who ever funded this film looses their shirt on it.

  36. Auskeur on Fri, 6th Sep 2013 10:31 pm

Will give it a chance but not too hopeful, a bit meh. Bet he looses that hand by the end of the film, all ready for RC2 -Full Steel!

  44. spacetimegeek on Sat, 7th Sep 2013 4:13 am

I’m not sure about keeping the one human hand and not keen on the black. The idea of what became of him and how that ingrains with his wife and kid is interesting.

without this music it will never be Robocop

  49. sparky6899 on Sat, 7th Sep 2013 7:07 am

Original Robocop had a massive great wolverine spike in his hand for digital data transfer. This one probably has a USB 3.0 port up his ass.

  50. luke brown on Sat, 7th Sep 2013 7:11 am

Here’s the thing. If you are mad they have remade a timeless classic them simply don’t watch it. That’s it. Done. It WON’T be like the original otherwise you might as well just watch the original, it will be different, maybe with a little innovation? The colour and look odf the suite isn’t the most important thing in the world, watch it then make up your mind. Simple.
