Finally we can all be Jag fan boys. I know a number of Brits feel betrayed but the fact is, the marquee was struggling sales had been down for a while. In my opinion this was a simple case of revealed preferences the market was now tired of old school looking Jags. There is no greater testimony of this than the debut sales of the XF which outsold the entire brand in the month of March. Without a doubt the new XJ is now in the game. Right now if I was looking for a big sedan it would be a no brainer, I would get the XJ over the S-Class, 7 Series, A8 and LS460.
The best way to describe the perception that people had of Jag can be summed up by my girlfriend’s reaction when I told her that the new XJ looks ultra modern and sporty, she said, “You mean to tell me that they’re no longer making those old daddy cars.” LOL!
With the XF and the XJ I simply cannot wait to see the X-Type replacement.
