I think Souljah boy needs to stay in his lane and do his music. Or whatever he calls it. The Boy is young and only seems to understand the monatary aspect of the game but that’s the difference between an artist and a businessman Nas does music and has quality to the degree that when he dies there will be classes about what he wrote just as is with Tupac. Souljah boy is having his time which is fine but what he needs to do is collect his money while he can and keep working. Hip Hop is a culture rapping is something you do and as a culture Hip Hop is lived by several but the sseparate arts are dying so I think a person who has no idea what real hip hop is should shut up and just take note.

you guys are idiots. artist said the same thing back andy warhol was making a mockery of art and achieving commericial success. it’s the same difference. no different than countless r&b legends inlcuding anita baker and sade always saying that r&b sucks now.

nas never cared about selling units. if you ACTUALLY LISTENED to the album you would know why he said “hip hop is dead”.

I have tried to come to terms with the notion that his youth may be the reason this kid continuously puts his foot in his own mouth but truth be told this kid is truly dumb.

You know some people really can’t see the wood for the trees. What Nas did with “HipHop is dead” is attempt to start a polemic, look at the reason the music became so formulaic why every clown and his friend seemed be getting a record deal to produce B.S. Most real hip-hop heads already knew the real music was in decline, Nas was just one the ones brave enough to make his feelings public. When you rape an art form of its creativity and render it bankrupt then when the real heads are no longer interested all that is left are the hangers on, when they in turn realise nobody else is interested anymore all that is left is the burnt out shell of something that once had meaning. Nas didn’t kill Hip-hop he just helped spotlight that it was in a state of arrest if you can’t see that then unfortunately you really just don’t get it.

Obviously Souljah Bwoy doesn’t but then that doesn’t surprise me!

I think NAS did â€œkill Hip-Hopâ€ to a degree. His reason for coming up with a racy title was just to sell units â€œpeak interestâ€. Therefore, heâ€™s a fake as dude. NAS used to sell albums for the brilliant content of his music; NOW he tries to sell them for the racy Titles on their cover!!!
