How can someone write a book about Rio-when they’ve never been? I go all the time, and its not for sex. I am a 30 something single black man who is educated and works in Engineering in Chicago. You all need to know- there is another side of Brazil where “real” people live-not just prostitutes. They’re culture is traditional-like ours used to be, where the family structure is respected. We have lost that here; sisters don’t really want a real man, and treat him as the head, because I believe “black women in America” have control issues that limit their ability to trust black men as the head of the house. Sisters here over 30 yrs old are all emotionally burnt up!!Coutries like Brazil still have tradition in tact. And that doesn’t mean women are at home and barefoot. They are educated, and well rounded as women in America. But, if you are a responsible man, you get treated like the head-the king, by Braziian women-this is why real men, like myself, go down to Brazil and not just for sex but in search of marriage. The women I’ve met are attractive, educated, humble, and enjoy the basics in life-not fendi handbags!!

Getting a little deeper, if you understand black culture in America-you would know that the same slave ships that came here, stopped in places like Brazil. Thus, we have the same bloodlines as Brazilians. In fact, we as African Americans, are mixed race Africans-not 100% African. Brazilians also are mixed race Africans, and, in the Northeast are African Americans just like us(South American African decendents)

Maybe I should write a book called, sisters stop being stuck on stupid, wake up. Or maybe; real men head households-not thugs!!

American Black women are not the only ones that have lost their way to make a functional relationship happen with a man. A majority of white women – particularily in the metropolitan areas (but in Jerry Springer rural areas too) have very screwed up material based values. Of course living in Los Angeles, I live in the worst of the mess that has become the typical “modern” woman of today. It’s important that both sexes don’t grind eachother’s spirits and self worth down – and men have tried to control women this way traditionally.
But if you’re a self respecting American male today: black, white, purple etc. you’re largely better off avoiding American women for long term marriage or a serious relationship. South Americans and Asians don’t expect things outside of real human scaled values culturally, often if they’re from a good family. When you love and respect such women – they appreciate it. American women will too often use it against you and spit you out – and consider you weak if you don’t abuse them like a “bad boy”. Too many American women are profoundly confused and screwed up. I’m a liberal white male that has traditionally been empathetic to femminism. But such American women have aspired for material, emotional, political empowerment without achieving true self respect – and thus they unknowingly attempt to take away the self respect of men. That’s different than keeping men from unjustifiably suppressing women. It’s really a mess in the U.S.

I have empathy with the black woman – because traditionally she has had to be the responsible power in the family. Black men for centuries have been emasculated by threatened dominant white culture – and black men, until recently, learned to lie low to survive – encouraged even run around and make kids without family to prove what manhood they were allowed to have. Even liberals in the 60′s thru 80′s created a welfare state that awarded black women and other disadvantaged only if she didn’t have a husband , and largely didn’t award either sex or poor folk in general to educate themselves. Rightwingers talk a lot about folks pulling themselves up with their own bootstraps , but that’s impossible without boots, And liberals too often gave boots to poor folk and struggling minorities with no holes for those bootstraps! This disproportionately created half crippled generations of poor black and other groups. Since Reagan, even the “progressives” have compromised too much to solve the problem by accepting the rightwinger point of view – Clinton is partly responsible for instilling the Democrats with this compromise. So now we’re seeing the gap between poor and rich quickly approaching the levels of 1929. It astounds me how much potential we had with Martin Luther King, post 1966 Robert Kennedy and others that understood this yet now we drown in this Post Reaganistic Koolaide. We never fully achieved investing in human talent to empower themselves – not subsidize their weakened condition that “Conservatives” would have you believe if we provided inexpensive excellent education to the meritous and attack poor drug ridden neighborhoods with community centers to economically develope parents secondarily but PRIMARILY give an inspiring alternative to poor kids to achieve middle class vocations and a more equal chance for college educations. America’s priorites are REALLY SCREWED UP! We are way too greedy and stupid as a nation without a JFK charisma with great vision to sell this to the American people.
